Elect Jim Zeigler

Republican Nominee • Public Service Commission, Place 2

Jim Zeigler is the Republican nominee for Public Service Commission, Place 2 — and the only candidate in this race who has already been elected to the PSC. On November 3, his seat is one of two that decide whether Republicans keep the majority on the board that sets Alabama’s power rates.

★ At Stake on November 3

Keep the Public Service Commission Republican

This year the Legislature expanded the PSC from three seats to seven and froze base utility rates through 2029. Five of the seven seats are already decided by appointment — and two of the Governor’s appointees, effective January 2027, came from Democratic nominations, among them a former Democratic state senator: the first Democrats on the commission in over a decade.

Two seats are still decided by the voters — on November 3. Those elected seats decide whether Republicans keep the majority on the board that regulates Alabama Power and sets the rates you pay. Place 2 is one of them. Jim Zeigler is the conservative who has done this job before and will hold the line.

★ Watch • Alabama Has Been Targeted

Massive Data Centers and Solar Farms Are Coming. Someone Has to Watch.

Massive data centers and solar farms can ruin a community, consume its water, and drive electric bills up — and no one in Montgomery is overseeing it. Jim Zeigler will serve as your Watchman on the Public Service Commission.

"I am running to put the PUBLIC back into the public service commission. I will be the Watchman for the people."

— Jim Zeigler, January 24, 2026

Big Tech Must Pay Their Own Way

Trillion-dollar technology companies want to build massive AI data centers, solar farms and other high-tech intrusions in Alabama — facilities that consume as much electricity and water as a mid-sized city.

The key question: who pays for all that new infrastructure? These are some of the wealthiest corporations in the world. Residential ratepayers should not be asked to subsidize their power needs and go short on water.

"If Big Tech creates the power shock, Big Tech should fund the power solution — not Alabama ratepayers."

Jim Zeigler will insist on cost allocation structures that protect residential ratepayers when large commercial projects require new infrastructure. He will serve as a Watchman, letting the public and local officials know about these intrusions before they are a done deal.

Zeigler Pulls Out of League of Women Voters PSC Debate

After the League blasted Gov. Kay Ivey’s call for a special session on congressional redistricting, Jim Zeigler announced he will not lend credibility to a partisan forum — and welcomed any debate hosted by a non-partisan body.

“The League of Women Voters is now a front for the Democrat Party, and I will not stand on the stage at their forum. I will continue taking my case directly to Alabama voters and ratepayers.”

Zeigler points to the League’s own statement opposing Alabama’s congressional redistricting — issued days before the scheduled debate — as evidence the organization has abandoned any pretense of neutrality.
